Satoshi
Satoshi refers to the smallest unit of Bitcoin, representing one hundred millionth of a Bitcoin (0.00000001 BTC). It is named after the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto. The term is often used in discussions about Bitcoin transactions and pricing.
For example, if a Bitcoin is worth $50,000, then one Satoshi would be worth $0.0005.
In practical cases, microtransactions may use Satoshis instead of whole Bitcoins. For instance, a digital tip in a content platform might be as low as 100 Satoshis, which would equate to $0.005 at the aforementioned Bitcoin price.
